Look Magazine just turned 3!
I joined Look as they celebrated their birthday in Rockwell with the 2nd installment of the Look of Style Awards, a young designers contest in partnership with the British Council. The grand prize is a trip to Central Saint Martins to study Fashion Design. Wootwoot!
I had 6 meetings for work that day that by the time I reached the Powerplant Mall, I felt like I had to have my hair done professionally just so I can look decent enough to attend the fashion show.
Bryan of Basement Salon blow-dried my hair then curled the edges. Now I’m thinking of getting a digital perm because of him. But I doubt I can maintain it!
I did my own makeup while I was in the car, something that I always do on my way to work or to an event.
It was still early so I decided to pass by the Shu Uemura counter. I was so happy to see that the bar was full of makeup artists whom I all had a pleasure of working with before.
As soon as I got to the venue, I saw my grade school classmate who’s now the PR and Events Manager of Rustan’s, Denise Roco. We haven’t seen each other since our grade 6 graduation considering we both went to Ateneo for college! How was that even possible, Denise?!
I also saw the girls from Sprint Asia, the distributors of Wet n’ Wild Cosmetics, Orly Nail Polish and Makeup Designory:
Here are some of the looks and models that I thought rocked the runway that night:
[Young Designer Barbie Alvez was Samsung’s pick]
[Young Designer Nino Angeles was Look Magazine’s pick. His collection was also my favorite!]
But it was young designer Geoff Gonzales who bagged the prize! He’s going to the UK, all expenses paid!
Hinge Inquirer’s owner and publisher Sandy Prieto thanked everyone for being part of this celebration of the Filipino creative talent.
Congratulations to the team behind Look! Thanks to editor Ronna Capili for the invite. I certainly enjoyed the show!
